Last week I looked in my aquarium to find that all of my fish had died in the course of one day. This confused me. Then, when I couldn't find my plecostamus yesterday, I started looking for his body in there. I got close to the aquarium to look in behind the rocks that form my cave, close enough to feel the heat radiating from it. It was really really hot.
I touched it with my hand and was rather frightened by the ammount of heat i felt. So I took a look at the thermometer...
100+ degrees in the F and the heater was still on. This tells me that I may have possibly boiled my fish to death. Had the temperature been allowed to climb higher, I could have chopped up some carrots and celery and served up bowls of fish soup.
We're still looking into the cause of this incedent, and we would like to send our condolences of the families of the victims. We will do everything we can to bring these criminals to justice.
